All competitions are held with \u201csillonnage\u201d, i.e. athletes can form a peloton on their bikes, as in a bicycle race. The elite category refers to athletes aged 20 and over, although in reality, athletes aged 16 to 19 (junior category) can sometimes compete in the same events.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Athletes accumulate World Triathlon points over the three levels of competition for the international ranking.     The ultimate level of competition, the World Triathlon Series (WTS), generally comprises eight or nine individual events and three mixed-team relay events. A maximum of 55 athletes per gender may start a World Series stage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The last stage of the calendar, the Grand Final, brings together not only the world’s best athletes, but also those in the junior\/U23 and amateur categories for the sprint with furrowing and Olympic without furrowing distances. At the end of the season, the titles of World Champion are awarded to the men and women who have accumulated the most points in the series.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
