Age group competitions<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Age group athletes participate mainly for the fun of the sport and to challenge themselves. Some of them are extremely competitive and regularly take part in the Coupe du Qu\u00e9bec series. In Quebec, age group competitions are generally held in five-year increments for triathlon and ten-year increments for duathlon. <\/p>

The minimum age is 16 for sprint distances and 18 for Olympic distances and over.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These athletes can represent their country in elite competitions such as World Championships, World Cups, Continental Championships and World Triathlon Ranking Points events. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This means that competitors can run directly behind or alongside other competitors during the cycling part of the event.
